special thanks to thomas of the building department inspection division and dan frost of the electrical division who received letters of appreciation from dbi customers. thank you for their good work there. we also convey our heart-felt sympathies and the family of former staffer, ray louy on the passing of his father paul, and a much reported engineer who added significantly to san francisco throughout his lifetime. so our condolences to his family. thanks to all, to those who were able to attend the dbi holiday party in december. we had a terrific turn out of staff and family and we loved having all of the children there at the party. my child had a melt down about not getting a tie. we had to take him out early. >> a special thanks to the team of volunteers that included a staff from all of the divisions for making this event such a success as well as to tom huoy and. dbi managers who donated personally to put this party on and so we greatly appreciate that and it is a good morale and it was a special effort on your behalf to do this. thank you tom and your senior management. and tha

i am substituting today for dan murphy, who has been ill for a while and we thought we better get these recommendations to you as quickly as we could. i am presenting recommendations. we came up with at our october and december meetings of last year. the first two concern church street and transit improvements there. the mta cac recommends that both the church street transit-only lane and the 76x marin express pilot projects proceed as presented. the cac requests that staff report back to the mta cac quarterly on their findings and at the end of the pilot project. cac recommends that the tep staff use other appropriate tools on the church street project including transit preferential significants and recommends that the agency take into account all modes flowing through the dubois/church intersection whether or not through signage or signals. the next recommendation, cac recommends that the agency report back on the possibility of selecting a low-income community as a destination for a second run of the 76x marin headlands express. the next motion has to do with the tep again. cac recom

so, i think it's time to reclaim george moscone from the narcissistic legacy or the senselessness of dan white or the well intentioned world of hollywood or the better intentioned world of theater. it's time to reclaim him from the places where the real george gets lost in the story of others, even in my own. and we gift him back to the city and to the people, to his friends and to his colleagues and to the citizens who are the fabric and texture and color of san francisco. so, all of us can stop looking at the death of george moscone and start to put him firmly in our hearts so we can see the likes of him in new community leaders, young artists, queer and colorful, innovators and students, all inside our magnificently and uniquely diverse and never-changing city. san francisco will never be what it was, nothing in life will be. but as i heard recently, we are always nostalgic for a time that never was and often wanting to avoid a future that is inevitable. will change in san francisco as in everywhere is inevitable. and change can be beautiful. we are all of us the agents of change. as

to my team, from dan, to lawrence, john stewart, a special shout out to our very own margaret miller who has spent much of the last seven years of her life helping make this dream come true. (applause) >> so, thank you, thank you, and truly happy new year to all. thanks. (applause) >> thank you, jeff. so, this is, again, one of those san francisco moments, right? we don't do things easy and we want to do things that are pushing the envelope. and one of the things that we're pushing the envelope on is trying to look at how we provide for the services for the families. and one of the things that this unique to this development is that we have the campaign for hope sf. and this is a campaign which is -- whose goal is to raise $25 million for funding of what they would call transformative or disruptive social services for the residents. the goal is to help the city overall do thing better, to find new things, to new services to provide, and to really transform the lives of the residents of today and tomorrow. as the mayor said, it's not about the bricks and mortars. it's about the lives
